Local primary school installs synthetic grass for no-water, no maintenance

A drought resistant, no water, no maintenance synthetic lawn has been installed at St Patrick’s Primary School in Asquith.

Principal Suzanne Cavanagh said that the 120 square metre Pro- tech lawn was installed at the school during the last holidays and was a nice surprise for students returning from their break.

“It definitely had the wow factor when the kids came back to school and saw it.

“It is very comfortable and creates a beautiful, tranquil atmosphere in that part of the school, which is the ‘quiet area’ used by the kids for sitting around and talking.

“The students absolutely love it,” Ms Cavanagh said.

The synthetic lawn system, which is the first to be installed in a Sydney school, is based on a unique European concept, which has been brought to Australia by Pro-tech, which uses the process of ‘fibrillation’ to split the fibres and give the lawn the grass-like look and feel.

Pro-tech is a national supplier of synthetic lawns and putting greens, and can be contacted on 1300 554 334.
