No-water, no-mow lawn comes to The Entrance
The no-water, no-mow synthetic lawn, which looks like natural grass, has come to
The Entrance, with the first lawn being installed in the front yard of Lakesea
Apartments, a new development close to the beach.
Craig Bell was the Site Manager at the new Lakesea Apartments development and
liked the look of the Pro-tech Eco Logical lawn so much he decided to install
one at his own Noraville home.
"After seeing how terrific the lawn looked in the front garden of Lakesea
Apartments, I wanted one installed around my pool at home," said Craig.
"Before the Eco Logical lawn installation, I had natural grass around my pool
which was a pain. Although mowing the grass took me ten minutes, cleaning the
mess in the pool afterwards took about an hour.
"The new lawn looks and feels like magic and isn't a hassle to maintain," he
said.
The Eco Logical synthetic lawn system is based on a unique European concept,
brought to Australia by Pro-tech Corp, which uses the process of 'fibrillation'
to split the fibres and give the lawn the grass-like look and feel.
Local Pro-tech agents Richard and Annette Pascoe said that many people find it
difficult to find the time to maintain a nice looking lawn.
"We think that Central Coast residents will really embrace the synthetic lawn.
Time is precious in today's society and we have so little of it available for
leisure activities that many people prefer to spend it with their families or
enjoying the beautiful surroundings rather than working in the garden," said
Annette.
The natural look of the product and the no-maintenance nature of the lawn makes
it a viable option for developers looking to install water efficient lawns in
new housing developments.
As part of the lawn system, Pro-tech has developed a water capturing system
which people can choose to install beneath the Eco Logical lawn. It makes the
collection of fresh rain water easy with the help of a sub-turf membrane or
water run-off matt which collects the water and stores it in a subterranean
water tank. The modular tank, which can sit beneath or adjacent to the lawn, can
then have its water pumped to a garden tap.
The company also installs high quality synthetic putting greens as used by
champion golfers including Peter O'Malley, Nick O'Hern and Wayne Grady. The
synthetic greens play as true as a championship green, yet require no
maintenance or watering.
