Local childcare centre chooses no-water synthetic lawn
Top Kidz Childcare Centre in Engadine has installed an 80 square metre no-water, no-mow synthetic lawn that looks like natural grass and is completely safe for children.

The Eco Logical Lawn, supplied by Pro-tech Corp, has proven to be a popular landscaping alternative for pre-schools and childcare centres with several centres installing the lawn in NSW.

As per safety regulations pertaining to landscaping around children's play equipment, the lawn has been certified as 'soft-fall' which means that it is soft and impact absorbing, reducing the chance of injuries if children fall from play equipment.

Vanessa Henderson, owner of Top Kidz said that before the installation of the Eco Logical lawn, the children never played in the front yard of the childcare centre.

"The front of the centre was unusable because it was under the trees where there was no grass growing, just dirt.

"Since the synthetic lawn has been installed, the area has become usable and the kids love it.

"We have also had parents telling us how good the lawn looks.

"It feels soft and the best thing is we don't have to worry about maintaining it.

"With the current water restrictions, it really helps that the lawn doesn't need to be watered," Vanessa said.

Pro-tech Eco Logical lawns have been installed in many pre-schools and schools throughout Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra.

The Eco Logical synthetic lawn system was created by Pro-tech Corp Pty Ltd and is based on a European concept using the process of fibrillation to split the fibres and give the lawn the grass-like look and feel.
